Well, this month has been FULL!! Have you found that too? What is it about Spring and September? LOL!
Anyway, at the beginning of the month it was my brother’s birthday. We had a fun night out with him and his wife’s family, although our kids were a bit overexcited by the end of the evening!! This is the card I made for him.
You know, I think this is the first time I’ve ever used Brilliant Blue cardstock! But WOW, this colour combo really impressed me – Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa and Brilliant Blue. The inspiration for the card came from Live Laugh and Stamp with Karen here … what a gorgeous card! Thanks, Karen

All of the Very Vanilla cardstock you see is textured cardstock, which I’m addicted to! I’ve used the stamp set, Think Happy Thoughts, such a versatile set! And then I’ve paper pierced the middle strip with my mat pack. The big star brad is from the Star Designer Brads, which are a quality bargain at only $11.25!!
And it’s the LAST DAY of September, already! Which means it is the LAST DAY for Stampin’ Up!’s Gift with Purchase Promotion EXCEPT customers have outperformed even Stampin’ Up!’s most optimistic estimates, and Stampin’ Up! have RUN OUT of inventory of this special item.

So, because Stampin’ Up! are simply awesome, they have announced they are offering a replacement item for anyone who places a $100 order TODAY!! Any order placed before 11.50pm today will qualify for the ribbon bundle and will receive a spool of Chocolate Chip 1″ (2.5 cm) double-stitched grosgrain ribbon (item 111849; p. 150) and a spool of Rose Red 1″ (2.5 cm) double-stitched grosgrain ribbon (item 111846; p. 150).
So, that’s $39.90 worth of ribbon FOR FREE after spending $100!! You must place an order with me today to take advantage of this incredible offer.

It was my sister’s birthday on the 17th (just gone) and I had made this purse for her gift. Lee lives on the Gold Coast, so she doesn’t see us very often and I thought a couple of pictures of us would be nice for her to have. So I spied this bag on the net made by Gretchen Barron (thanks for the super inspiration!!) and I then altered the measurements of the purse to fit my photos. The purse, or handbag, was perfect for my sister as she loves bags!

I used textured cardstock for the entire card, except for the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper and the thin panels on the inside of the purse. The paper colours are Basic Black, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.

The stamp set I used is a Rose is a Rose and it was stamped using Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss. The coordinating wheel, Bella’s Border was used on the thin panels. Of course, the coordinating Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon worked perfectly for the handle and the Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon on the front of the purse coordinated with the rose leaves inside the purse.

The Eyelet Border punch helped layer the photos and decorate the front of the purse. Plus, the other punches I used to layer the two sentiments to the purse were the Scallop Circle, Designer Label, Large Oval, Oval and Scallop Oval.

The sentiment stamp sets I used were Sincere Salutations and Short & Sweet. A rhinestone brad and Pink Flower Designer brad helped decorate the sentiments. And, for the final decorations, on the front of the purse I used a Button Bouquet Designer Button and a gorgeous Stampin’ Up! clip at the top of the purse. And I paper pierced the strip of Textured Pink Pirouette cardstock.

This is a card I made as one of the “ideas” for our Watoto fundraiser. We didn’t use it, although you will see we did make something similar.
This card used the colours Basic Grey, So Saffron, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. The stamp set, as the title suggests, is Fun & Fast Notes. I often forget how useful this stamp set is! On the So Saffron cardstock, I’ve used the tone-on-tone effect using the Scribble jumbo wheel in So Saffron ink.
I love the Baja Breeze ribbon – it looks great!

Wow, it’s been a little while since I’ve blogged! I do have lots to show you, but I hope you can be patient for more, as I’m away again this weekend to Canberra for my step-Nan’s 90th. And I have a BIG project to complete before I go.
Let me show you a few photos from our SUPER fundraiser on the weekend. I’m very proud of my friend Michele, who did a remarkable job putting this event together. And we couldn’t have done it without the help of Alison, Kara or Julie either. I’m blessed to know such lovely ladies
This is the hall with everyone hard at work …

At the front, we had the Silent Auction …

With some awesome donations …

that were won for a bargain!!

There was a table devoted to Watoto …

And the opportunity for everyone to write a note to the Women of Watoto, to touch a person’s life, and have that note taken over to Uganda this Thursday …

Then there was the RAFFLE … again, I was chuffed that one of my friends, Jenne, won 4th prize in the raffle! Well done, Jenne!

There was our display …

And the donations that could be bought (and were sold in a highly successful FUN auction at the end of the day, if they hadn’t already sold) …

There were also lucky door prizes (well done, Janelle!) and “under the chair” prizes (well done, Lee!).
What a great day! I hope everyone who came along enjoyed the day! Thank you so much for your support. Without your participation, we could not have raised over $1700!!! Thanks so much again. What a tremendous achievement.
I’ll post up the cards we made shortly …

A long, long time ago (well, it seems like it!), I was lucky to stamp Sharon’s Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. Sharon is one of my lovely team members and her cards are gorgeous! Thanks, Sharon!! Check out Sharon’s superb talent here.
Anyway, I stamped lots of butterflies and then waited for the right card to put them together. And this card is for my lovely cousin’s daughter, Brooklyn, who just turned 4. Brookie had a great birthday party last week and the kids all had a ball. And the best part? Seeing Brookie open her presents, wow, ALL the kids loved that part!

I love this colour combo – Elegant Eggplant and Pink Pirouette, it’s subtlely striking. And, I think, the Pretties Kit pearls are a classic girlie touch.
Don’t you think the sentiment is profound … if nothing ever changed there would be no butterflies? Wow.
