Hubby’s birthday yesterday

Well, it was Shane’s birthday yesterday and so I managed to get the kids together to make birthday cards for him. Harrison was the only one to miss out (he was only 10 months old yesterday!). So Bella, she is 4 years old in June, chose the balloon stamp and the colours and off she went. I helped her a little with the inside of the card with the alphabet stamps. The card got a little bent as she didn’t want to let go of it until Daddy arrived home. This was the outside of her card (she wanted to stamp both sides) …

and this was the inside of the card …

Josh on the other hand, only 2 years old last week, wasn’t interested in the least. He was too busy driving his matchbox cars around on his new garage. Except when Bella started to actually stamp, THEN he became interested in the ink pads … so he ended up with some ink on his fingers, which we effectively removed from his fingers on the paper… then he decided to kiss the ink pad too! So, again, pressing the paper on his face did a great job removing most of the ink off his face! I added the ‘Celebrate’ stamp. Can you see the lip and chin marks on the card??

Both kids were very impressed with their cards. When Daddy came through the door, he was greeted with two children waving their cards in the air clamoring to give him their cards and wishing him a ‘Happy Birthday!’. Priceless.

And hopefully not so much an anticlimax to the previous two cards, this was my card for my hubby 🙂

Honestly, I cannot share with you how lovely it was to make these cards together with my kids and then see them give the cards to their Dad. Ever since I started making my own cards with Stampin’ Up!, I have been amazed at how special some parts of life have become. Which card do you like best? Leave a comment (or even better, subscribe to receive updates to my blog automatically in your emails) and let me know which you prefer!! I promise to tell my kids …

  1. Joshy’s card is so beautiful! It’s a very personal touch to an already personal and original card.
Bella’s is wonderful too, love the layering of the balloons. I can see where the kids get their creative minds, your cards are fantastic!
