Live Your Dream thank you card

My cousin came over yesterday so our girls could have a play day.  And we had a lovely day!  The girls made cards (while my youngest slept and my toddler was meant to sleep) and then we had a go at making cards when all the kids went outside to play for a while.  I already had card precut in Bashful Blue, Barely Banana and Certainly Celery, so we just used what we had and put cards together.  This is the card I made, using the stamp set Live Your Dream in the Summer Mini Catalogue.

I masked the circle and then stamped my images using Almost Amethyst for the flower and Barely Banana for the butterflies.  I sponged Certainly Celery over the top of the stamped images.  I then cut out the butterflies and added two FIRE rhinestone brads.  A simple ‘thank you’ from Short & Sweet, a little paper piercing – and the card is done!  Here is a close up:

God’s Blessings – Baby Boy’s Christening

dsc00331

A very special baby boy is being baptised this weekend. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to attend the service as it is in Brisbane, but our prayers are with Brynn for Sunday.

This is the card I made to send up with his present. I love the Bashful Blue and Barely Banana combination for a baby boy card – don’t you? And I’m addicted to the metal edge tags at the moment – they’re awesome!

So what have I used for this card? The base of the card stock is textured Bashful Blue. I stamped the message from God’s Blessings on the metal edge tag, then I’ve stamped and embossed in silver the duck clip and rattle from All Year Fun. I then rolled my jumbo Nursery Letters wheel in Barely Banana on the bottom half of the card and layered it on Barely Banana card stock. I’ve divided the card with the 1″ stitched grosgrain ribbon (available in the Summer Mini catalogue) – it’s it stunning ribbon! I sponged around the edge of the white cardstock with Barely Banana and then finished the card off with three star brads from the Styled Silver Hodgepodge.

I hope it makes a nice keepsake for Brynn.

Classic Stars 5th birthday boy card

This is the birthday card I made for the other party my daughter went to on the weekend. Connor also turned 5!

dsc00317

I love the Classic Stars jumbo wheel and this is the first card I’ve made where I’ve embossed it. I think I’ll emboss it more often! I think the gold looks fab!

I wanted to use the Outlaw DSP for Connor’s card, and so I based my colours around the Outlaw paper, picking a pattern from Outlaw that worked with the Classic Stars (and wasn’t too overwhelming!). So the colours are Very Vanilla, Gold (Versamark with Gold Embossing Powder), Chocolate Chip, Really Rust and Sage Shadow.

A boy’s card is always hard to make and I find you can’t really put pretty ribbon on a boy’s card, don’t you think? Anyway, the new 1″ wide double stitched grosgrain (available in the Summer Mini) lends itself to a boy’s card and I dared to try it! I then added the Antique Brass Hodgepodge to frame ‘birthday boy’. Again, I think the Antique Brass Hodgepodge lends itself to a masculine card. The ‘birthday boy’ words came from the stamp set Everyday Flexible Phrases.

I cut the number 5 out, from Best Friends Numbers, after I stamped it onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I used dimensionals to stick it to the Sage Shadow cardstock I had punched out with my Round Tab punch, and layered with Chocolate Chip cardstock. It’s been a while since I’ve used my Crop-a-dile, but the New Year is providing good fun already and I used it here! The eyelets are from the Metallic Eyelets and are matching Antique Brass. Don’t you love the way Stampin’ Up! products coordinate!! It makes card making so much easier when everything coordinates.

I finally hung the ‘5’ from ‘birthday boy’ using Stampin’ Up!’s linen thread.

Big Bold 5th Birthday

My daughter has been to a couple of birthdays over the weekend, lots of her friends are turning 5! This is the birthday card I made for her friend, Georgia.

dsc00282

I am finally making use of my Big Bold Birthday stamp set – I love it! The number ‘5’ has come from Best Friends Numbers, which is a stamp set I use all the time – it has been a great investment for birthday cards. I’ve used textured white cardstock for the card base, and the pretty pink paper is Berry Bliss DSP. Remember, we only have a few more months (until 31 March 2009) to purchase Stampin’ Up!’s DSP at the bargain price of $11.95 (plus P&H). The gorgeous ribbon is the Purely Pomegranate wide satin ribbon (no longer available). The top of the candle is an Ice Rhinestone brad. And, although it isn’t obvious in the photo, I have made the spotty top of the cupcake 3D with crystal effects and dazzling diamonds – the icing on the cake!

It was so easy to pick the colours for this card. I knew I wanted to use the Berry Bliss DSP, so I simply used those colours … Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa and Purely Pomegranate. I hope Georgia likes the card!

This is one of the cards I’ve made from the new stamp set, In the Stars (page 14).  I think this stamp set is so versatile … it makes Christmas cards, birthday cards, baby cards, congrats cards … your imagination is the only spark it needs!

I made this card using the colours Night of Navy, Soft Sky, Silver and Sahara Sand.  The card above I didn’t make the bauble with a bow … the card below, I used my Night of Navy marker pen to create a bow … which do you prefer?  Bow or no bow??

Dashing Christmas Card

Well, the Spring Mini catalogue is nearing its end and so that means, no more Season of Joy soon:(

This is a card I made the other week after I had stamped the Season of Joy image, layered it with Real Red and Old Olive and then not used it.  So, I grabbed out my Dashing DSP to finish off the stamped image and put this card together in 10 mins.  The Real Red wide striped grosgrain finishes it off.
