Rue Des Fleurs dress for 10th birthday card

One of the most amazing ideas I saw at Convention, and adored, was a very, very clever way to use the umbrella in Rue Des Fleurs as a dress!  Now, I’m so sorry, I don’t know who to credit for this amazing dress.  There could be others out there on the internet, but my inspiration came from the very clever demo who displayed her work at Convention in Canberra – and the project was amazing too!  If anyone can tell who this lady was or provide a link for my inspiration, please do!

I made this card slightly different to the one I saw at Convention (it was embossed in gold and coloured with Cherry Cobbler), but this card was for a good friend’s daughter, who is turning 10, so more pink was appropriate!  I embossed the image using clear Versamark, inking in Cherry Cobbler and then the Cherry scented Embossing Powder – so this project has a YUMMY smell 🙂  I coloured in some of the embossed image with my Pink Pirouette market.

I used the stamp sets, Rue Des Fleurs and the sentiment from Bring on the Cake.  I’ve used the colour combination Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Pear Pizzazz.

The itty bitty flower shapes punch was perfect for the flowers, which I scrunched up and sponged before popping a pearl on each flower.  A little sponging the Very Vanilla edge finished off the card!  Now that you’ve seen an alternative use for this stamp set – don’t you feel justified in wanting to buy it (if you haven’t already!).

If you really want it, because you’ve been inspired like I was inspired, you can see more than one use for this lovely stamp set, and you live in Australia, simply email me at rachel.capps@yahoo.com.au, mention this post by saying “you feel justified”, place your order with me for this stamp set at $42.94 (clear mount) or $53.95 (wood mount) and I will arrange for it to be shipped to you, where ever you want (home or work), for FREE.  This is a once-only offer which ends with the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue on 31 July 2012.

Blushing Bride Delicate Doilies birthday card

This is a card I created when playing with a fellow stamper.  We wanted to see how Delicate Doilies looked embossed in black – so we embossed it on Blushing Bride 2010-2012 In Color Patterns DSP Stack paper.  This is how it turned out …

I just the love Patterns DSP stacks (can’t you tell?) – they’re so versatile!

So for this card I used lots of it.  And then I used the Lace Ribbon border, Extra-Large Oval and Decorative Label punches with some Blushing Bride stitched-poly ribbon around the sentiment stamped from Bring on the Cake. And this is a close up of the sentiment:

Delicate Doilies birthday card

This was a card I made last year when I first played with stamp set Delicate Doilies. I just love this stamp set!

To make this card I stamped the images from Delicate Doilies in Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Wisteria Wonder first before I put the paper through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder in the Big Shot.  I sponged the edges of all but the bottom strip of Very Vanilla with Soft Suede ink including the strip of Very Vanilla punched with the Lace Ribbon border punch and the strip of Wisteria Wonder (also stamped with Delicate Doilies in Soft Suede) which has been cut with Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die with the Big Shot.

The sentiment was stamped using the stamp set Bring on the Cake.

Bring on the Cake stamp-a-stack

This is a card I made for a recent stamp-a-stack for a lovely lady who wanted to share stamping on her birthday – what a simply wonderful idea!  Don’t you agree?

This is the other card that was inspired by one of my favourite cards here.  I began with the colours Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake and Certainly Celery.  We used the Scallop Trim border punch with a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock, which was layered with another strip of Certainly Celery DSP (from the Subtles DSP Paper Stack).  We stamped the sentiment from Bring on the Cake on the Very Vanilla cardstock and sponged the edges.

For the flowers, we used Silhouette Sentiments with the Blushing Bride and Certainly Celery marker pens.  The background of the flower circle was stamped in Crumb Cake with a “stamped off” stamp from the retired SAB stamp set, Bliss.  For the border around the flower circle, we punched the Fancy Flower punch with Crumb Cake and Certainly Celery cardstock.  A row of paper piercing finished off the card.
