Beth Stewart’s Christmas Banner from Convention, Canberra

This gorgeous Christmas banner was inspired entirely by the ever-so-creative and clever, Elisabeth Stewart.  You can check out Beth’s beautiful work here.

Beth seriously inspired everyone at Convention in Canberra on stage this year with her wonderful creations!  Please excuse my poor photography, it’s hard to photograph something long with a standard camera!  But I have tried my best to re-create Beth’s Christmas banner here – this is a “Merry” banner:

This is a “Peace” banner (sorry about the TV!!):

Here are close-ups of the “Merry” banner:

Teacher gifts – sour cream containers

These were little gifts I made for my daughter’s daycare teachers, as she finished at the centre before Christmas, ready for primary school this year.  Even though she only had two teachers in her room, we had to make a gift for a few more teachers!  She loves her teachers 🙂  She is so ready to start school this year, I just hope I am too!! LOL!

As these were quickly thrown together the night before she gave them out, they were simply made from an assortment of Designer Series Paper scraps I had left over.  So there is a mixture of current and no longer available DSP.  But I did get to play with my new Curvy Label Punch Bundle – that was fun!

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas, holiday season and exciting New Year’s Eve.  What a terrible blogger I’ve been over the past couple of months.  Sorry.  I can’t guarantee that I’ll improve this year as I am determined to finish writing, and then polishing/editing my novel.  However, it doesn’t mean I’m not creating!  I have a stash of photos I wanted to post in December and didn’t.

So let’s start with one project.  These gorgeous boxes were inspired by Marelle Taylor.  She calls them her Sevens Box and she has a great tutorial (click on her name to see it).  They are fabulous!  This was my take on the box, with a Christmas theme.

I used the stamp sets Winter Post and Season of Joy.  The little flower is from Season of Joy, the other stamps were from Winter Post.  I really love Winter Post, but I don’t own it, I borrowed it from my lovely friend and team member, Michele Knight

I also used the colours Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Old Olive.

The punches are the Large Star, Designer Label and 1 3/8″ circle.  And my absolute FAV ribbon ever … but sadly, it’s no longer available, as it was only available in the Spring Mini and we now have the Summer Mini.  If you haven’t seen the Summer Mini yet, you can check out what’s available in it here.

And for the treats inside, I used Stampin Up cellophane bags, stamped with white Staz On and tied it all up with Riding Hood Red tafetta ribbon.

These were gifts for my Stamp-a-Stack hostesses before Christmas.  Thanks so much for hosting card nights for me, ladies! (you know who you are!!)  I really appreciate it, and hope everyone had fun.

Gift Certificate

DSC01096

Do you know someone who loves Stampin’ Up! products?  Why not arrange a Gift Certificate for them for their next birthday or for Christmas?  This is a Gift Certificate holder I made recently … your friend could receive something like this!  How special will they feel?

And what could be really special?  Make your own!  I’ve used the colours Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Almost Amethyst and Certainly Celery.  The stamp sets are One of a Kind and Fresh Cuts.  The ribbon is  Basic Grey taffeta.  And the punch is the gorgeous Eyelet Border punch.

Email me at rachel.capps@yahoo.com.au to arrange a Gift Certificate any time, anywhere in Australia.

Baroque Motifs 30th Birthday

We’re off to our neighbour’s 30th birthday party tonight.  This is the birthday card I made for her using Baroque Motifs.  What a simply divine stamp set!  I don’t think anyone could go wrong making a stunning card with this stamp set.

I’m afraid I’m stuck on Purely Pomegranate at the moment … I love love love the colour and the satin ribbon is new so I simply must use it!  I’ve used Pretty in Pink and River Rock with Purely Pomegranate this time.   I’ll try a different colour combo soon … because Christmas is on the way and it’s time to start making Christmas cards!

If you are interested in booking a stamp-a-stack for Christmas cards (10 cards, 2 different designs) with me, email me today for more info and to book in a date!
