Christmas Box in a Bag

I made this cute-as Box in a Bag for someone special, and the sort of person that at Christmas, who simply appreciates you being around and doesn’t want or need gifts.  I popped a few chocolates inside in a cello bag with a handmade card, and that was the present.

I used the Designer Series Paper, Tree Trimmings (no longer available) and stamped the flowers from Eastern Blooms.  The centre of the flowers are dazzled up with Chunky Sprinkles – currently available in the Inventory Clearance Sale for a bargain price!

If you’d like to have a go at making the Box in a Bag yourself, then check out the tutorial here.

Cheers to you!

Last weekend we had a last minute surprise visit from my Dad.  It was great timing because it was his birthday – and the kids adore his visits.  This meant I had the perfect opportunity to use my Sticky Cut letters … again!

Plus, I used the ever-versatile Cheers to You stamp set.  I stamped the martini glass across the bottom of the card and coloured it in using my blender pens and ink pads.  I used colours based around Stampin’ Up!’s blue Chunky sprinkles – Basic Grey, Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy and Kiwi Kiss.  These are great colours to use for a masculine card!

My sister’s 30th …

Last weekend we were in Canberra for my sister’s 30th birthday … animal print theme!  It was a fantastic party, awesome night (except poor Cath lost her voice) .. and the kids were even good even though it was a late night!

My card is nothing like we were dressed … but this is what I made for her…

It was an entirely unexpected card, nothing like I had in my head to start with … all I knew was that I wanted a card using my new toy, the Sticky Cut Letters, with Chunky Sprinkles!  After that, I stamped Baroque Motifs in versamark and heat embossed it in white … using the emboss resist technique … I then sponged over the white embossing with Pink Pirouette … rubbed off the excess ink with a tissue and then added the gorgeous and coordinating Pink Pirouette ribbon!  It really only took about 15 minutes to make … once I stopped looking at the blank white paper!!

The papers I’ve used are Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Whisper White.

New Baby Boy!

My neighbour gave birth to a beautiful baby boy last Monday, and he’s simply adorable!  It’s so nice to have a newborn bubba only next door!!!

This is the card I made to go with his present …

My favourite jumbo wheel, Nursery Letters, is the base for this card. Then I used God’s Blessing for the sentiment, which fits perfectly inside the large square metal edge tag!  I was happy about that!   Do you recognise a new colour?  It’s the new In Color, Pacific Point, and it’s gorgeous!!  I even sponged around the edge of the sentiment to use more of the ink!! LOL!  The other colour is Bashful Blue … and the ribbon is the Bashful Blue 1″ double stitched.

This is a close up of the stars … aren’t they sparkly!!!  I punched out the stars and using my Versamark ink and the Heat & Stick powder, I then adhered Chunky Sprinkles to the stars.
