Forever Young Get Well card

Remember when I used to blog?  I’m so sorry it’s been so so so long.  You would think with three gorgeous kids at school now (kindy, year 1 and year 2), I would have more time.  BUT (there is always a but).  My business has taken off (I haven’t even advertised yet).  All my work comes via word of mouth.  This is good, but means my time must be devoted to clients first.  Fortunately, even though I’ve lacked in blogging I have still been creating!  So, I have a lot of photos to share and I hope I can get on a roll again so you, I hope, can find inspiration when you visit.

This is a card I created last year and was inspired by Teneale Williams here.  Teneale has such amazing work, you must visit (if you haven’t before)!

The colour combination is Basic Black and Concord Crush.  I’ve used Basic Black cardstock, the 2010-2012 In Color Patterns DSP Stack and the old Newsprint DSP.  I embossed the images using versamark and black embossing powder and finished off the card with a Vintage brad and a strip of Very Vanilla paper punched with the Lace Ribbon border punch.

This is a close up of the sentiment stamped using Teeny Tiny Sentiments.

Strength & Hope Mini Lunch Sacks

I know the new catalogue has just started – so I promise I will post some of my new creations in the next week.  Don’t you love the new catalogue?  I know I do!  If you haven’t seen it yet and would like a hard copy – please email me 🙂

Now, I am sorry I’m very tardy in posting these gorgeous mini lunch sacks – especially because you can’t buy them from Stampin’ Up! anymore!  But I love them, all the same, and must share them 🙂

I made these as a free gift to all my guests for my launch of the Autumn/Winter mini that has now finished.  I just adored the lunch sacks and was entirely inspired to make my lunch sacks from the gorgeous creations on this link here.

To make them, I popped the lunch sacks through my Big Shot in the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  Then I punched out three strips of Concord Crush cardstock with the Scallop Trim border punch.  I stamped the butterfly from Strength & Hope in Concord Crush ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut it out and stuck it with dimensionals over the flourish from Strength & Hope (also stamped in Concord Crush).  Of course, a gift must have bling too – so there are three of SU’s rhinestone basic jewels for the butterfly’s body.

To tie the top together, I used Basic Black striped grosgrain ribbon.  And my little tag is from Tiny Tags – stamped in Basic Black and Pear Pizzazz and tied on with linen thread.

Friends 24-7 Make-and-Take

This is one of the make and take cards my guests made at my Sale-a-bration and Summer Mini Catalogue launch party a couple of weeks ago.  The design was entirely inspire by Teneale Williams here and I told my guests exactly that – and one of them confessed she had already seen Teneale’s card!  Teneale has made such a beautiful card, you should check it out (if you haven’t already seen it, lol!).

Only, I couldn’t use the stamp set, Bliss, as Teneale had.  I don’t have it yet!  So, this is a good example of how you can make what you have work for you.  I wanted to also use Well Scripted on my launch night, so I made this card work for me.

I used the colours Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Concord Crush DSP from the Level 1 Hostess DSP Pack.  I put the Concord Crush DSP through my Big Shot with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die and a string of SU pearls in the middle.  The striped DSP is also the Concord Crush DSP.

Like Teneale, I also used the rock and roll technique for the damask from Friends 24-7.  I stamped in Perfect Plum ink first, then stamped off once, then rock and rolled the stamp in Elegant Eggplant.  I love the effect!

I stamped the sentiment from Well Scripted in Elegant Eggplant and a touch of Victoria crochet trim lace finished off the card.

Owl Punch Wedding Card

Ever since the new SU catalogue came out, I’ve wanted to make a card using Concord Crush.  Finally, for Cath and Steve’s wedding card, I found the time!  Yeah!  You see, purple is also one of Cath’s favourite colours.  So, enter Destiny.

I made this card using Concord Crush and teamed it together with the Basic Grey and Whisper White.  I also had to add Baroque Motifs, as I know how much Cath loves that stamp.  Of course, who doesn’t love that stamp?!!  lol.  Anyway, you can also see that I added a touch of Vintage Wallpaper as well.  Had to stick to my themes!

The bride’s dress was made using the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with a few pearls at the bottom to make her truly elegant.  For the tiara, I used the owl’s feet and added one of SU’s gorgeous teeny pearls.  The groom’s waistcoat came from the Level 1 Hostess DSP pack and his bow tie (which I adore) came from two hearts from the Owl punch.  A few pearl buttons finished him off.

And how about the gorgeous sentiment?  I love the stamp set, Well Scripted, which is available in the current Summer Mini Catalogue – only until 31 March 2011.  Email me today to order it for yourself.  Or why not order the Owl punch – at $33.95 (plus shipping) in Australia it’s an amazing punch to add to your collection.

Well, I had so much fun making all the cards I made for Cath and Steve’s wedding.  I hope you enjoyed the journey.  Now I think I need to find another wedding!  The challenge has pushed my inspiration and it’s been soul-satisfying 🙂
