Best Yet punch gift tags

I totally forgot I’d made these!  These little gift tag bags were one of my free gifts at my Sale-a-bration launch earlier this year.

I took an SU cellophane bag and slid a piece of DSP – Bella Bleu – inside.  Then I punched the Word Window punch to make a slit at the top of the bag.  Then the little gift tags went inside and I tied a knot of Very Vanilla grosgrain ribbon at the top.

I based the gift tags on the colours from Bella Bleu. I love Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Sahara Sand and Very Vanilla together!

I love the way Stampin’ Up! punches layer together and look so good! I’ve used a variety of punches for these gift tags, but I made the Scallop Square punch my “unifying” punch on each gift tag.  For the above gift tag I also used the 1 3/4″ Circle and Designer Label punches.

For the above gift tag, I used also the 1 1/4″ Square and 1 3/8″ Square punches.  And, sadly, the stamp set Best Yet will only be available as a hostess set until the end of the month – and then it’s gone!

And for this gift tag, I used the Curvy Label and Wide Oval punches.

Happy New Year!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas, holiday season and exciting New Year’s Eve.  What a terrible blogger I’ve been over the past couple of months.  Sorry.  I can’t guarantee that I’ll improve this year as I am determined to finish writing, and then polishing/editing my novel.  However, it doesn’t mean I’m not creating!  I have a stash of photos I wanted to post in December and didn’t.

So let’s start with one project.  These gorgeous boxes were inspired by Marelle Taylor.  She calls them her Sevens Box and she has a great tutorial (click on her name to see it).  They are fabulous!  This was my take on the box, with a Christmas theme.

I used the stamp sets Winter Post and Season of Joy.  The little flower is from Season of Joy, the other stamps were from Winter Post.  I really love Winter Post, but I don’t own it, I borrowed it from my lovely friend and team member, Michele Knight

I also used the colours Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, Baja Breeze and Old Olive.

The punches are the Large Star, Designer Label and 1 3/8″ circle.  And my absolute FAV ribbon ever … but sadly, it’s no longer available, as it was only available in the Spring Mini and we now have the Summer Mini.  If you haven’t seen the Summer Mini yet, you can check out what’s available in it here.

And for the treats inside, I used Stampin Up cellophane bags, stamped with white Staz On and tied it all up with Riding Hood Red tafetta ribbon.

These were gifts for my Stamp-a-Stack hostesses before Christmas.  Thanks so much for hosting card nights for me, ladies! (you know who you are!!)  I really appreciate it, and hope everyone had fun.

Bella Rose Purse

It was my sister’s birthday on the 17th (just gone) and I had made this purse for her gift.  Lee lives on the Gold Coast, so she doesn’t see us very often and I thought a couple of pictures of us would be nice for her to have.  So I spied this bag on the net made by Gretchen Barron (thanks for the super inspiration!!) and I then altered the measurements of the purse to fit my photos.  The purse, or handbag, was perfect for my sister as she loves bags!

I used textured cardstock for the entire card, except for the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper and the thin panels on the inside of the purse.  The paper colours are Basic Black, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White.

The stamp set I used is a Rose is a Rose and it was stamped using Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Old Olive and Kiwi Kiss.  The coordinating wheel, Bella’s Border was used on the thin panels.  Of course, the coordinating Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon worked perfectly for the handle and the Kiwi Kiss satin ribbon on the front of the purse coordinated with the rose leaves inside the purse.

The Eyelet Border punch helped layer the photos and decorate the front of the purse.  Plus, the other punches I used to layer the two sentiments to the purse were the Scallop Circle, Designer Label, Large Oval,  Oval and Scallop Oval.

The sentiment stamp sets I used were Sincere Salutations and Short & Sweet.  A rhinestone brad and Pink Flower Designer brad helped decorate the sentiments.  And, for the final decorations, on the front of the purse I used a Button Bouquet Designer Button and a gorgeous Stampin’ Up! clip at the top of the purse.  And I paper pierced the strip of Textured Pink Pirouette cardstock.

Another masculine birthday card

It was also my brother’s birthday last month.  And this is another card I’ve made using the Outlaw Designer Series Paper.

I managed to make this card without a Really Rust Ink pad … (on my wish list!) … I did use the Really Rust marker pen though, which helped out!  I like these colours for a masculine card … Chocolate Chip, Really Rust and Very Vanilla.

I must admit, I did go on “punch” overload with this card … I have used the Large Star, Star, Designer Label, 1 3/8″ circle and Photo Corners.  It didn’t seem like so many when I was making the card!
