Baby Tees Baby Boy

This card was made for very good friends, who we miss so much because they live in the UK, and who welcomed their first born son into their lives earlier this year.

I made this card at the same time as the baby girl’s card, so it was nice to make the same card and simply change the colour combo for a boy and girl.  The colours I’ve used are Bashful Blue, Old Olive and Whisper White.  The white satin ribbon is so elegant, I just love it!

Just the same as the girl’s card, I stamped the Baby Tees jumbo wheel in Staz On black ink and then cut it out and coloured it in using my aqua painter and ink pads.  And the sentiment was from Well Scripted too.

Thanks for looking 🙂

Baby Tees Baby Girl

I made this card for my old neighbours.  They had a beautiful baby girl earlier this year!

I used the colours Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery and Whisper White.  The Baby Tees jumbo wheel is so cute!  I rolled it in Staz On black ink on watercolour paper and then cut it out and coloured it in using my aqua painter and ink pads.

Of course, the embossed dots are made using the Big Shot and the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  And the sentiment comes from the stamp set Well Scripted.

Dazzling Nursery Letters

This is another card I made for a workshop make-and-take.  It uses Heat & Stick powder with Dazzling Diamonds.  I love the simplicity of Nursery Letters with Dazzling Diamonds on the Whisper White!  The Eyelet Border punch jazzes it up together with the White Taffeta ribbon.  I think these colours – Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose – make a lovely baby girl card.  The sentiment from Short & Sweet finishes the card off.

Classic Stars 5th birthday boy card

This is the birthday card I made for the other party my daughter went to on the weekend. Connor also turned 5!

I love the Classic Stars jumbo wheel and this is the first card I’ve made where I’ve embossed it. I think I’ll emboss it more often! I think the gold looks fab!

I wanted to use the Outlaw DSP for Connor’s card, and so I based my colours around the Outlaw paper, picking a pattern from Outlaw that worked with the Classic Stars (and wasn’t too overwhelming!). So the colours are Very Vanilla, Gold (Versamark with Gold Embossing Powder), Chocolate Chip, Really Rust and Sage Shadow.

A boy’s card is always hard to make and I find you can’t really put pretty ribbon on a boy’s card, don’t you think? Anyway, the new 1″ wide double stitched grosgrain (available in the Summer Mini) lends itself to a boy’s card and I dared to try it! I then added the Antique Brass Hodgepodge to frame ‘birthday boy’. Again, I think the Antique Brass Hodgepodge lends itself to a masculine card. The ‘birthday boy’ words came from the stamp set Everyday Flexible Phrases.

I cut the number 5 out, from Best Friends Numbers, after I stamped it onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Then I used dimensionals to stick it to the Sage Shadow cardstock I had punched out with my Round Tab punch, and layered with Chocolate Chip cardstock. It’s been a while since I’ve used my Crop-a-dile, but the New Year is providing good fun already and I used it here! The eyelets are from the Metallic Eyelets and are matching Antique Brass. Don’t you love the way Stampin’ Up! products coordinate!! It makes card making so much easier when everything coordinates.

I finally hung the ‘5’ from ‘birthday boy’ using Stampin’ Up!’s linen thread.

FREE card & scrap night – Friday 28 March 2008

Have you seen, or do you own, either of these two cards?

Fun Filled

If you have, it means you have either been one of my hostesses or you have been to a workshop party where I have demonstrated, as these have been my demonstration cards which I give to my hostesses. So! I must now ask you … have you made anything with your Stampin’ Up! purchases?  Well, if the answer is no to this question, then it is time you dedicated some time to create … it is time to make time for YOU!

I am having a FREE card & scrap night on Friday 28 March 2008 from 8.00pm (the Friday night after Easter) for any of my hostesses, customers or friends (or your friends) who are interested in coming along. It will be a night to work on your own creations.  You simply need to bring along your own cardstock, adhesives, embellishments etc and any of your latest purchases you haven’t yet used. You are welcome to also use any of my stamp sets, ink pads or punches, if you like. I will supply a seat, some lollies (to help with creative inspiration!) and coffee/tea/cold drinks. Book some time in your diary for YOU now and come along. Bookings essential (simply so I can organise table space for everyone).

I’m planning on this night becoming a monthly or bi-monthly stamp & scrap night, so if you can’t make it this month, subscribe to my blog today and you’ll get an update in your Inbox when I update my blog for next month (the last Friday of the month is a possibility).

Slot a place in your diary for YOU now … you deserve it.

Hope to see you there!

Make and Take for Michele’s first workshop party

My dear friend, Michele, who has also joined me with Stampin’ Up! is having her first workshop tomorrow night (Friday). It is going to be an exciting night with lots of people coming! This is the make and take we are going to do for everyone …

I think the colours Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip look really lovely together. What do you think?

Make and Takes for Launch Party

These are two of the make and takes that we will be making at my Sale-A-Bration Launch party on Friday night (anytime from 7.30pm, 18th January 2008). Why not come along and make your own to take home?

Thank you with Bud Basics and jumbo wheel

This first card doesn’t have to be a ‘thank you’ card. You can use any stamp from the ‘Warmest Regards’ stamp set to make your card your own.

Wedding Congratulations gift tag size

This card is gift tag size and would be cute and special to use as an ‘acceptance’ to a wedding you might be about to attend. Of course, it could be a wedding card too!

We will be making one other card but it will be a surprise for the night. Why not come along and see what it is?
