Medallion wedding thank you

This is the last of the wedding cards I made for my lovely friend soon-to-be-bride.

I’ve used the same colours as before – So Saffron, Brushed Gold and Very Vanilla.  I stamped the En Francais in Gold ink – but stamped off to make the colour lighter.  Then I stamped the Medallion in Versamark ink and covered it with clear embossing powder.  I heated the powder so it melted and once that was finished, I sponged So Saffron ink around the Medallion to make it pop out – also known as the technique of emboss resist.

For the sentiment, SNEEK PEEK I used a new Level 3 Hostess stamp set, Occasional Quotes, and used my So Saffron marker to colour and stamp only the “thank you”.  I punched the Brushed Gold cardstock with the scallop edge punch and paper pierced a strip of So Saffron cardstock with my mat pack.  A few pearls (non-SU) finished it off.

Thanks for looking 🙂

Parisian Sense of Time scrapbook layout

I mentioned last month a big project I had to complete.  Well, it was a scrapbook album for my step-Nan’s 90th birthday, which she LOVED, I might add.  It was a lovely night with a lot of my step-mum’s family travelling from Sydney to Canberra for my step-Nan’s birthday.

I managed to complete 13 pages in 3 days.  So, over the next week, I’ll share the layouts with you.  I still have a few more pages to scrap as well, so hopefully I’ll finish them soon too.  This was my first attempt at a 12 x 12 scrapbook!

I’m going to start with my favourite double layout first … a perfect colour combo (in my opinion) for photos from the 1930s 🙂

I’ve used Baja Breeze textured paper for the base.  Then I’ve used scraps of Parisian Breeze DSP for the brown corners (the scraps are from the front page layout of the album, which I’ll post soon) and two strips of the flower pattern from Parisian Breeze DSP.  I then used Sahara Sand textured paper as a mat for the left hand page and Sahara Sand and Chocolate Chip paper to layer the photos on the right page.

You can see I’ve used a Pretties Kit big flower and layered it with Flower Fusion Too felt flowers with a rhinestone brad in the centre.  I’ve paper pierced, using my mat pack, around where the photos will go, so the photos are highlighted a little.

I stamped the sentiment from Sense of Time on Sahara Sand paper, then layered it on Chocolate Chip paper.  I sponged the edges of the Sahara Sand paper with Chocolate Chip ink to give an aged feel.  The jumbo eyelet adds to the aged feel and I’ve threaded the eyelet with Baja Breeze coordinating striped grosgrain ribbon.

I used my word window punch to add ‘Bondi 1937’ using my Chocolate Chip marker pen, and I layered that on the scalloped oval punch.  I added a bow of Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon and a Pretties Kit pearl to make it look pretty 🙂

I stamped the clock from Sense of Time in Sahara Sand ink on the left page, and in Chocolate Chip ink on the Baja Breeze textured paper on the right page.  I then alternate stamped the clock mechanics stamp in Sahara Sand and Baja Breeze on both pages, so the clock images flowed from one page to the next.  I used my square punches as diamonds to add the dates to each photo.

And lastly each page layout with photos.  I left a few gaps on the first page so that my step-mum can add some jouralling too.

My brother’s birthday and LAST DAY RIBBON BUNDLE

Well, this month has been FULL!!  Have you found that too?  What is it about Spring and September? LOL!

Anyway, at the beginning of the month it was my brother’s birthday.  We had a fun night out with him and his wife’s family, although our kids were a bit overexcited by the end of the evening!!  This is the card I made for him.

You know, I think this is the first time I’ve ever used Brilliant Blue cardstock!  But WOW, this colour combo really impressed me – Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa and Brilliant Blue.  The inspiration for the card came from Live Laugh and Stamp with Karen here … what a gorgeous card!  Thanks, Karen 🙂

All of the Very Vanilla cardstock you see is textured cardstock, which I’m addicted to!  I’ve used the stamp set, Think Happy Thoughts, such a versatile set!  And then I’ve paper pierced the middle strip with my mat pack.  The big star brad is from the Star Designer Brads, which are a quality bargain at only $11.25!!

And it’s the LAST DAY of September, already!  Which means it is the LAST DAY for Stampin’ Up!’s Gift with Purchase Promotion EXCEPT customers have outperformed even Stampin’ Up!’s most optimistic estimates, and Stampin’ Up! have RUN OUT of inventory of this special item.

100RibbonGift

So, because Stampin’ Up! are simply awesome, they have announced they are offering a replacement item for anyone who places a $100 order TODAY!! Any order placed before 11.50pm today will qualify for the ribbon bundle and will receive a spool of Chocolate Chip 1″ (2.5 cm) double-stitched grosgrain ribbon (item 111849; p. 150) and a spool of Rose Red 1″ (2.5 cm) double-stitched grosgrain ribbon (item 111846; p. 150).

So, that’s $39.90 worth of ribbon FOR FREE after spending $100!!  You must place an order with me today to take advantage of this incredible offer.

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

dsc04578

This is one of the cards we made at a Christmas Stamp-a-Stack class the other night.  It was a great card to make because I provided a few different stamp sets i.e. Season of Joy, Snowflake Spot and Snow Flurries and everyone could tailer their bauble and have five different cards, albeit the same colour and layout.  And a touch of Dazzling Diamonds made the bauble sparkle!

This was the other card we made (which I have posted earlier) but the card below, instead of a bow, I used a Styled Silver hodgepodge buckle … and a rhinestone brad.  I really love the buckle … everyone had the chance to add one buckle to one of their cards on the night!

If you would like to make some Christmas cards why not book a night with me (asap!) or book to come along to my house on Friday 5 December 2008.

Short & Sweet Birthday

This is the birthday card I recently made for my sister’s birthday.  I’ve reverted to one of my favourite colours again … Purely Pomegranate!  I just love the Purely Pomegranate satin ribbon 🙂  There is a lot of white for this card though and a dash of Pixie Pink.  I like the crisp and clean look.  I used the excellent Short & Sweet stamp set again … it really is a wonderful stamp set!  And today is the last day you can purchase it for 20% off!  So if you’d like to order it, let me know now because I am definitely placing an order on the evening of the 31st October 2008.

Here is a close up of the punched out images using the Large Star, 1 3/8″ and 1 1/4″ punches.  You can also see the paper piercing I’ve made using my mat pack:

Fun & Fast Get Well Wishes

I’m very slack … I have been meaning to make this card for a while. It is for a lovely friend who has had an operation recently. Except she’ll be well on the mend by the time she receives the card!

Anyway, a long while ago during a training session I had the chance to use someone else’s Paisley background stamp. Finally, I decided to use it! The rest of the card just grew from the old olive Paisley stamp on Whisper White card stock and the need for a Get Well card. Of course, Fun & Fast Notes provided me with all I needed then. I had fun with my new aqua painter, water colour paper and, naturally, I couldn’t help but use my crop-a-dile!

I really like Old Olive and Regal Rose together … and the ribbons are just fabulous in the new catalogue! Enjoy your day and thanks for looking!

FREE card & scrap night – Friday 28 March 2008

Have you seen, or do you own, either of these two cards?

Bloomin with Happiness

Fun Filled

If you have, it means you have either been one of my hostesses or you have been to a workshop party where I have demonstrated, as these have been my demonstration cards which I give to my hostesses. So! I must now ask you … have you made anything with your Stampin’ Up! purchases?  Well, if the answer is no to this question, then it is time you dedicated some time to create … it is time to make time for YOU!

I am having a FREE card & scrap night on Friday 28 March 2008 from 8.00pm (the Friday night after Easter) for any of my hostesses, customers or friends (or your friends) who are interested in coming along. It will be a night to work on your own creations.  You simply need to bring along your own cardstock, adhesives, embellishments etc and any of your latest purchases you haven’t yet used. You are welcome to also use any of my stamp sets, ink pads or punches, if you like. I will supply a seat, some lollies (to help with creative inspiration!) and coffee/tea/cold drinks. Book some time in your diary for YOU now and come along. Bookings essential (simply so I can organise table space for everyone).

I’m planning on this night becoming a monthly or bi-monthly stamp & scrap night, so if you can’t make it this month, subscribe to my blog today and you’ll get an update in your Inbox when I update my blog for next month (the last Friday of the month is a possibility).

Slot a place in your diary for YOU now … you deserve it.

Hope to see you there!
