Cyberstamp Challenge #3

The third challenge was to create an adorable watering can.  We followed a step by step tutorial on how to make the watering can including the template on SplitCoastStampers here.

Of course our watering can had to be pink!

This is my watering can, I used Pocket Silhouettes and the jumbo wheel Friendly Words.  My colours were Pretty in Pink and Pink Passion.

I’ve embellished it with flowers from the Pretties Kit (coloured in with my Pretty in Pink marker pen) and also exchanged the top handle from paper to striped grosgrain ribbon.  A couple of rhinestone brads add bling!

Can you make out the sentiment in the photo?  It reads “True Friends are hard to find” …

Thanks for looking 🙂

Priceless 2nd Birthday

Well, here is another toddler birthday card!  We have had quite a few birthdays lately 🙂  Sorry, I’m afraid we haven’t got a 6th birthday coming up … yet!

I made this card a few weeks ago and forgot I had taken a photo of it!  Now I’ve found the photo, I can share it with you.  For this card, I’ve used the stamp sets Priceless, Everyday Flexible Phrases, Fun & Fast Notes and Best Friends Numbers for this card.  I’ve forgotten how useful Everyday Flexible Phrases is!  I’ve used the colours Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery.  They go so well together!  And they make such a pretty birthday card for a beautiful little 2 year old girl, don’t you think?

I just love textured cardstock so much !!!

Thanks for looking!

Guest Artist

My guest artist this week is one of the lovely girls I work with, Brie.

How would you like to receive an invitation for High Afternoon Tea and for the rest of a Hen’s night/weekend looking like this?  It’s pretty special, isn’t it?  Brie is a bridesmaid in August and for her bride she made these lovely invitations for the bride’s Hen’s weekend.  I’m sure you will all agree, Brie has done a fantastic job!

If you are wondering  about how to recreate an invitation like this, well Brie used Pretty in Pink and Old Olive cardstock with the matching Old Olive wide grosgrain ribbon.  She stamped the images using Boho Backgrounds and “Party Time” from a Sale-a-Bration stamp set.

There were also a lot of punches used and lots of punching, wasn’t there Brie!?  Brie started with the corner rounder punch and used it to create the edge at the top of the invite … and for a short while had her boyfriend convinced she had used the corner rounder punch to create the scalloped circle around “Party Time” … until he noticed the scallop circle punch !! LOL!!

My apologies for the below photo, it’s a bit blurry.  I had to share though how Brie used the All Year Fun stamp set on the bottom inside of the invites … very clever!

Well done, Brie, it was a great achievement to make all these invitations … and it was Brie’s first time at cardmaking!

4th Birthday

Four years ago (Sunday) I remember my husband driving us to The SAN Hospital in the wee hours of the morning when I had contractions 4 mins apart and my husband had to stop for McDonalds on the way (!) … at 11.11am our daughter, Isabella, was born.  I always remember the time because of Remembrance Day.

On Sunday it was the first year we didn’t have a party for Bella (both her brothers had parties this year, that was enough!), but it still felt like a party because my mother-in-law, brother and his wife and our next door neighbour and her daughter all visited at the same time.  Everyone got to sing her ‘happy birthday’ and she got to blow out her candles on her ‘cupcake’ cake!

This is the birthday card I made for her (above) and the close up (below) …

In hindsight, I don’t think I should have put the butterflies on … but she loved it!

A little funny story too … when she opened her Uncle Mark & Aunty Nicole’s card she turned to Uncle Mark and said … ‘it’s so pretty … you made it?’  God love her! hehe!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day for Sunday. I hope all the lovely mums out there enjoy their day and are spoilt well!

At my technique class the other night for Mother’s Day I had a few sample cards that my ladies could choose from. So, no one walked away with the same card that night. There were quite a few different cards! But, importantly, everyone had a turn at embossing and using my new crop-a-dile. We embossed the background paper, the En Francais back stamp, and we embossed on vellum paper the flowers using Petal Prints. And we had eyelets to set everywhere!

This card below used Dazzling Diamonds and Heat & Stick powder for the En Francais background stamp – everyone chose to use the Dazzling Diamonds!! How can you avoid that gorgeous sparkle, heh?! Everyone was able to personalise their card because they could choose their words from Life Definitions or Everyday Flexible Phrases. So many combinations to choose from! One popular stamp combination was used on this card … “Birthday Wish” …

The main word definition was stamped over the flowers from Boho Backgrounds (stamped off). Gosh, I love Boho Backgrounds!!

This last card below I made at the end of the night and it was simplier (I was a bit tired by then!)

Which card do you like best?

Subscribe to my blog and newsletter today so you know when my next technique class is on. Then you too can learn a new technique because you will know when it is on!

Fourth Birthday

What a great party!  Yesterday my daughter and I went to our neighbours’ daughter’s fourth birthday party.  It was the first time we had met a lot of their family and what great fun they all were.  It was a much later night than expected!  This is the birthday card I made for Jayda …

Do you like the way I’ve done the cut-in corners?  Well, thanks to a tip from Alisa Tilsner, I’ve used the slit punch for this corner effect.  Very cool!!  Thanks Alisa!  And, did you know as of Monday 31 March 2008, you won’t be able to buy from Stampin’ Up! the Fresh Fillers background stamps or the Flirty wide pink ribbon I’ve used.  They end with the end of the old catalogue and the Summer mini catalogue.  If you’d like to order any of these products, do so now or forever hold your peace 🙂

Have a great weekend!
