I hope all mum’s had a lovely day yesterday and were spoilt royally! 🙂 This is a card I made for my Mother-in-Law’s Mother’s Day card. We had a relaxing day at home with my MIL and the kids 🙂
I was inspired to make this card by the talented Michelle Le-Breton. You can see Michelle’s elegant card here. This card was also one of the make-and-takes my guests made at my Autumn/Winter Mini Catalogue launch. I had a small group of lovely ladies (much smaller than usual), so I was able to spoil my guests with some extra nice accessories. It was a fun night!
To make this card, we used the colours Rich Razzleberry, Kiwi Kiss and Whisper White. The WW background was textured using the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The damask stamp is from Friends 24-7, and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments (I love this versatile stamp set!). At the centre of the damask, we’ve punched out some Bella Rose DSP and then adhered it to a Build-a-Brad. I love the touch of Kiwi Kiss with the Rich Razzleberry, don’t you?! Here is a close up:
Well, today is the last day of Sale-a-bration and the Summer Mini. If you haven’t yet received all the Sale-a-bration stamp sets you want, then today is your last chance to purchase $100 worth of product to earn one more Sale-a-bration stamp set on your wish list. Please email me before 10.00pm today with your last Sale-a-bration order!
As promised, this is another card I made using the emboss resist technique. I love the birdcage from Happy Moments that I’ve used on this card! The birdcage is sooo sweeeet 🙂 And I also love the “hello” sentiment, from the Hello Again stamp set. Today is also the last day of the Summer Mini Catalogue, and so it’s also the last day you can purchase Hello Again. The flowers on the background were sparkled up with a touch of Tombow glue and some Olive Fine Supernova glitter – I love bling!
This is another card from the same class – I encourage trying different images and products in classes from what I have available. In this card, I changed the Fine Supernova glitter to Orange. Naturally, the Orange coordinates perfectly with this card!
Do you have the Classic Stars jumbo wheel yet? If you don’t, you should! Well, I will qualify … particularly if you have kids! I think it makes great boy and girl birthday cards. Together with the coordinating star punches, it’s a must have at only $AUS15.95.
This is a card I made to demonstrate heat embossing, using silver embossing powder. The SU silver embossing powder is gorgeous! You must try it. Really. You must. Together with the silver, I’ve made this card using the colours Lovely Lilac, Rose Red and Whisper White. The wide grosgrain ribbon is in coordinating Rose Red. And the lovely patterned paper under the ribbon? Well, that’s from the Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin’ kit.
The sentiment is from the stamp set Think Happy Thoughts. The little star stamped in Lovely Lilac ink is from Seasons of Joy – what a versatile stamp set! There is a neat little trick to the punched out “outlined” star. Why not sign up to receive my monthly newsletter today? Then you’ll learn the tip in my June newsletter.
Last weekend my Dad came to Sydney, visiting the kids, but also to go to an 80th birthday for an old work friend from his Canberra Times days. While we were out shopping at Rouse Hill Town Centre, he asked me were he could buy a birthday card … LOL!! I said I could make one!
And this is the card I made …
Using the colours Kiwi Kiss and Basic Black … I embossed the damask image with black powder and then stamped it off in Kiwi Kiss. Then I embossed the “Happy Birthday” from the Level 2 Hostess set, Occasions for All, and the “80” from Best Friends Numbers (retired). I wasn’t very happy with my “80” … it’s a bit crooked! Oh well, it is handmade!! A little bit of Kiwi Kiss/Very Vanilla satin ribbon finished it off.
Well, this Sunday is Mother’s Day, as you all know 🙂 And this is one of the best reasons why I love to make cards, because I can give my mum a handmade Mother’s Day card this weekend (well, post it to her as she lives a long way away!). Aren’t all mums obliged to love the handmade creations of their children?? I’m sure that obligation is meant to never stop!! LOL!!
I’ve used the gorgeous stamp set, A Rose is a Rose, and I’ve made another shaker card. Too much fun!! The cardstock colours I’ve used are Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss textured with the usual Whisper White. The new Kiwi Kiss ribbon is sooo soft! beautiful! The stamped flowers that frame the shaker square are stamped in Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss and Old Olive. The rose in the centre is stamped in Barely Banana and So Saffron. And I’ve filled the shaker square with Chunky Sprinkles – gotta have some bling! The sentiment comes from the fantastically priced Wonderful Favourites.
Enjoy your Mother’s Day this weekend, in the way it means the most to you 🙂
