This is the last of the wedding cards I made for my lovely friend soon-to-be-bride.
I’ve used the same colours as before – So Saffron, Brushed Gold and Very Vanilla. I stamped the En Francais in Gold ink – but stamped off to make the colour lighter. Then I stamped the Medallion in Versamark ink and covered it with clear embossing powder. I heated the powder so it melted and once that was finished, I sponged So Saffron ink around the Medallion to make it pop out – also known as the technique of emboss resist.
For the sentiment, SNEEK PEEK I used a new Level 3 Hostess stamp set, Occasional Quotes, and used my So Saffron marker to colour and stamp only the “thank you”. I punched the Brushed Gold cardstock with the scallop edge punch and paper pierced a strip of So Saffron cardstock with my mat pack. A few pearls (non-SU) finished it off.
I’ve been busy making some special cards for a lovely lady I used to work with – she’s getting married very soon!! I was asked to make a few wedding thank you cards for her family, so this is one of the cards I made:
I used the layout from another card I’ve made before here, and then I used colours that were closest to the bride’s bridesmaid colours to help coordinate with her wedding theme. I used Very Vanilla (textured), Brushed Gold and So Saffron card stock and So Saffron and Versamark ink. The stamp sets I used are Together Forever and Short & Sweet. Sadly, Together Forever won’t be available after the end of this month – so now is your last chance to buy it if you love it! I must admit, I’ve loved using it. It’s so versatile! Thank you cards, birthday cards, wedding cards etc.
You can see in the close up that I’ve embossed the sentiment and frame with gold embossing powder, plus I paper pierced a border in the centre frame and I’ve added some elegant pearls. Pearls are lovely on wedding cards, don’t you think?
I’ve more cards that are part of this wedding theme – so check back over the next few days to see what else I’ve created for my friend – the soon-to-be beautiful bride!
I’ve completed my second Kristina Werner Colour Challenge this weekend. It was perfect timing to make a card because I had to make my sister-in-law’s birthday card and we’re seeing her today! It’s always great to have some direction when making a card for someone, that’s why I love challenges! And this was a great inspiration and challenge 🙂
The picture above was Kristina’s challenge, and this is the card I made …
I love the stripes from Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Paper. Even though I have it under layers in this card, I made sure I lined the stripes up the same direction! I also used Glossy White cardstock which gives a really crisp card. I love it! I embossed with versamark, Old Olive ink and clear embossing powder on the glossy white for the green “stem” and I cut my Rose Red flowers from Priceless with extra Dazzling Diamonds. Then I coloured a flower from the Pretties Kit with my So Saffron marker pen. A bit of grey ribbon here and some circle punches layered with Think Happy Thoughts, a half pearl from the Pretties Kit and some paper piercing with my mat pack and there you have it!
Here are a couple of close ups …
Love that half pearl!
Love the rhinestone brad in the flower’s centre too! I hope my sister-in-law likes it 🙂
