Blushing Bride Delicate Doilies birthday card

This is a card I created when playing with a fellow stamper.  We wanted to see how Delicate Doilies looked embossed in black – so we embossed it on Blushing Bride 2010-2012 In Color Patterns DSP Stack paper.  This is how it turned out …

I just the love Patterns DSP stacks (can’t you tell?) – they’re so versatile!

So for this card I used lots of it.  And then I used the Lace Ribbon border, Extra-Large Oval and Decorative Label punches with some Blushing Bride stitched-poly ribbon around the sentiment stamped from Bring on the Cake. And this is a close up of the sentiment:

Delicate Doilies birthday card

This was a card I made last year when I first played with stamp set Delicate Doilies. I just love this stamp set!

To make this card I stamped the images from Delicate Doilies in Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Wisteria Wonder first before I put the paper through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder in the Big Shot.  I sponged the edges of all but the bottom strip of Very Vanilla with Soft Suede ink including the strip of Very Vanilla punched with the Lace Ribbon border punch and the strip of Wisteria Wonder (also stamped with Delicate Doilies in Soft Suede) which has been cut with Tasteful Trim Bigz XL die with the Big Shot.

The sentiment was stamped using the stamp set Bring on the Cake.

2011 Stampin’ Up! Retirement List (Australian)

I simply cannot believe how time flies by – it’s been a year since our new catalogue came out (well, really, our soon-to-be-old catalogue) and now it’s time to say goodbye AGAIN!  As always happens on the eve of every new Stampin’ Up! catalogue I’ve seen, hundreds of products from the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue will retire.  Now is your opportunity to buy the “must-haves” on your wish list … before they’re gone!

You can check out the list HERE, and you’ll see some items are 25% off and a few are 40% off.  So sit down with a cuppa and peruse the list with pleasure 🙂  Remember too, items on the Retired List are only available while stocks last OR until 31 August 2011 (whichever comes first).

I’m sad to see some of my favourite stamp sets on the list – Friends 24/7, Eastern Blooms, Pun Fun and the Extreme Guitar/Extreme Surfboard stamp sets.

But if you like Designer Series Paper and want to be prepared for Christmas this year – be excited!  Check out Jolly Holiday DSP – only $10.17 – that’s only $0.85 a sheet for 12 double sided sheets – BARGAIN!!  But hurry, this one is bound to fly off the warehouse shelves.

I’m also surprised to see some of the punches going 😦  and the Sanding Blocks (nooo!!) …

Anyhow, once you’ve made up your mind with what you “must have” (go on, you know you must!) – email me with your order at rachel.capps@yahoo.com.au.

Happy stamping 🙂

Medallion/En Francais Make-n-take

This is the make-and-take card I used at a recent workshop.  My hostess loves a vintage style, and she loved this card.  I used the colours Elegant Eggplant and Sahara Sand, sponging the edges of the Whisper White cardstock with Sahara Sand ink.  I stamped En Francais in Sahara Sand ink first and stamped it on the Whisper White cardstock.  After that I stamped the Medallion in Elegant Eggplant ink over the En Francais image.

I then used my two-way glue and dabbed it in the circles of the Medallion – then dusting it with Dazzling Diamonds.

The sentiment is from Well Scripted, available in the Summer Mini catalogue, and it’s stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink on Sahara Sand paper.  The edges of the Scallop Oval are sponged in Sahara Sand ink as well.  Simple, but elegant and antiquey!

Masculine Sense of Time

I made this card for my hopefully one-day-in-the-future brother-in-law.  He’s a builder, so something with mechanical workings seemed a good choice – so I chose Sense of Time.  The more I use this stamp set the more I love it!

I think the colours Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla make a great masculine card – what do you think?  I haven’t added any accessories to the card but I have sponged all the edges in Crumb Cake.

The sentiment is from Party This Way, which I stamped in Early Espresso on some Very Vanilla and then punched out with the Large Oval punch.  I then layered the sentiment with cardstock punched using my Designer Label punch and my 1 3/8″ Large Circle punch.

More Pony Party

This is another Pony Party card I made last year for one of my daughter’s friends.

For this card, I used the cardstock Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Concord Crush and Whisper White.  This time I sponged the background sky in Concord Crush and the grass in Pear Pizzazz, but I cut out the pony after I had coloured her in with my marker pens and ink pads.  Isn’t this the cutest eva pony?

The Pink Pirouette cardstock was rolled through my Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I stamped the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments in Regal Rose ink and sponged with Concord Crush – a few Rhinestones under the sentiment, layered over cardstock punched using my Scallop Oval punch and Large Oval punch, and the sentiment was done!

Some more Pony Party

This is a card I made last year for one of my daughter’s friends.  Ponies are simply too popular to ignore for 6 year old girls, lol!

For this card I used the colours Concord Crush and Blushing Bride – I really love these new In Colors!  I did my usual – I masked the pony and sponging a background on which I then stamped the butterflies, grass and flowers.  For the sky, I sponged the colour Bashful Blue and the grass with Pear Pizzazz.  I used my blender pens to colour in the pony from my ink pads and I stamped the sentiment using White Craft ink.  This gorgeous pony card was then finished off with three rhinestone brads in the top left hand corner.
