Something blue …

And last, but in no way least,  we have the “Something Blue” tag …

The gorgeous rose from A Rose is a Rose is stamped with the new In Colors, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze.   I’ve scalloped the side edges of the tag with my corner rounder punch (I know, I’m slack, I haven’t got the Scallop Edge punch yet!!).  Again, the “Something” came from the Sale-a-bration stamp set “Yummy” … I hope using the same “something” stamp will give all four tags unity.   The word “blue” also came from Wonderful Words again … and the ever-trusty Stampin’ Write marker pens!!  I used my Bashful Blue marker pen for the words.

The leaves were stamped with Kiwi Kiss and Always Artichoke … and I applied my favourite Dazzling Diamonds in the white pockets of the stamped images.  A little knotted bow of the new Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon finished off the rose and the top of the tag through a jumbo eyelet.

I hope the bride had a fantastic wedding day … and that she enjoys the tags and finds them a special keepsake for years to come.

Something new …

Sorry, I’m a few days behind in posting my “something new”. But, here it is!! This is the little gift tag to go with a “something new” gift …

I’ve used the new stamp set “Fresh Cuts” for the embossed silver flowers (or are they leaves??!! LOL). I’ve cut out the three flowers after stamping them in Almost Amethyst and used the Boho Blossoms punch to layer it with DSP (retired) … with a rhinestone brad for their centre.

I crimped the DSP … which was great fun (thanks for the lend, Chele!!) … and then had to match the crimping with some retired ribbon I had (I think it was called Flirty?) … and, sorry, the other ribbon is also retired. I really dug through all my ribbon to come up with something that suited the tag!

The words were great fun to create without an alphabet stamp set !!! The word “Something” was easy … it came from the Sale-a-bration stamp set Yummy. But the “new” came from Wonderful Favourites … and using my trusty marker pens with the stamp-a-ma-jig.

This is the tag opened up … a whisper white piece of cardstock is in the middle so that a little message may be written inside …

(late addition to my post) I just realised I was inspired for this three pieces idea from Shelli’s blog … Shalae’s post … here.  Thanks Shalae!!

This is the back of the tag … on the inside (above) it has been stamped with the message “for you” and the outside (below) has been embossed in silver:

I hope you like it! And I hope the bride likes it!!! Check back soon to see “something borrowed” …

Thanks for looking 🙂

Something old …

Don’t you just love a wedding?  And when it’s your wedding, it’s one of the most memorable and special days of your life.  To help add to how special my friend’s sister’s wedding day will be, my friend also asked me to make tags for “Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue” … as long as I had the time (too kind! what a fun challenge!).  LOL!!!  I couldn’t help but say … yes please, I’d love to have a go!  What a great reason to make something special for someone on their special day!!  And what an awesome idea!!

This is the tag I’ve made for “Something old” … I really tried for an old-worldy look.  To do this I used the technique … emerging colour!  The stamp sets I’ve used for the emerging colour are En Francais, Priceless and Simply Said.  You’ll see the word “Something” from Yummy (Sale-a-bration stamp set – now unavailable) appear on every tag which I hope will unite them all too.  For emerging colour I stamped En Francis in So Saffron, the butterfly from Priceless in the new In Color Kiwi Kiss and then the heart from Simply Said in versamark.  Then I embossed the heart with clear embossing powder.  After that, I pulled out my brayer and brayered over it all in Red Riding Hood Red.   After I finished brayering, I wiped the cardstock with a tissue.

I’ve distressed the edges of the emerging colour cardstock and the So Saffron cardstock.  And I’ve layered them onto Kiwi Kiss.  I’m sorry to say, the ribbon is either retired SU ribbon or not SU at all.

Check back tomorrow for “Something new” …

Last day!!!

Well, today is the last day of Sale-a-bration!  Here is another idea for you using two of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets, Botanical Blooms and Yummy.

I’ve used the colours Sage Shadow, Lovely Lilac, Pretty in Pink,  Rose Red and Basic Black.  And I’ve used the tone-on-tone effect for the base of the Sage Shadow card, stamping Botanical Blooms in Sage Shadow.  Then, on the Whisper White, I’ve two-step stamped the flowers … first the outline in Basic Black and then the solid colours in Sage Shadow, Lovely Lilac, Pretty in Pink and  Rose Red.  And just because it’s been a while … I’ve added Dazzling Diamonds to the flowers!

I finished off the card colouring in the sentiment from Yummy using my Lovely Lilac Stampin’ Write marker pen and then stamping that onto the card base.  Then a dash of ribbon with some Rose Red grosgrain ribbon and a Lovely Lilac button (threaded with linen thread), finally lifts the card.  I could not have made this card without my Stamp-a-ma-jig either!!

Remember to visit again tomorrow … the retirement list will be out as the countdown for the new catalogue begins!  Exciting days! hehe …

2 days to go …

Well, on 17 March it will be St Patrick’s Day … and it is also my husband’s birthday. So, this is the card I’ve made for him … and how handy was the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Polka Dot Punches!! I was completely inspired by Splitcoaststampers for this card here. I’ve also used the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Yummy, for the sentiment “with love” and my “Happy Birthday” is from God’s Blessings. And the background stamp I’ve used is En Francais. My only regret with this card is that I should have stamped the “Happy Birthday” a little lower 😦 But, otherwise, I think this has to be the best birthday card I’ve made for Shane yet, especially seeing as it is also St Pat’s Day!!  Oh, and the colour is Wild Wasabi through and through!

As you no doubt know, I love embellishments! And so there are a few on this card: a square rhinestone brad, Antique Brass hodgepodge, Wild Wasabi stitched grosgrain, black and white gingham and linen thread.

I hope you like this idea!

Remember, Sale-a-bration finishes for the year on Saturday, so if you have an order of $100 or more, then now is the time to place it with me … so you can have a free Sale-a-bration stamp set to go with it!
