Calm Brayered Sky ….

Isn’t this the coolest technique? I first came across a brayer and this technique at one of Jayne Mercer’s team training sessions for The Inklings last year. Of course, I had to have a brayer after playing with one!! Don’t you know that feeling??!!

Anyway, I also happened to do a small feature the technique in my newsletter last month (you too can sign up to receive my newsletter filled with great specials, tips and ideas – just click on words ‘sign up here’ in the top right hand box). Then I saw this great card here, also by Jayne Mercer. And then fate took over my life and I thought … I have to have a go at the brayered sky technique myself, all the signs are pointing to my brayer!

I’ve used the colours Baja Breeze, Pacific Point and Not Quite Navy to give a night time look. I’ve used my 1 3/8″ circle punch for the masked moon effect. And the bird from Friends 24-7 has been stamped in Staz On black and so has the sentiment from Sincere Salutations. I’ve paper pierced along each side of the square to add a little more detail. The card is all layered by Whisper White, Basic Black and Going Grey … with a few white pearls from the Pretties Kit stuck on using my Crystal Effects.
