Big Bold Birthday, step it up!

Here is the same card from my Stamp-a-Stack here, except this card is stepped up!  Instead of using the Eyelet Border Punch I’ve added the Pink Pirouette coordinating grosgrain ribbon and some bling.  What do you think?  Do you like the additional accessories?   Do you step it up on your own cards?

Stamp-a-Stack – Birthday cards

These are a set of cards made for a recent Stamp-a-Stack.  Gosh, we had a ball!  There was even a unique bloke gracing our presence.  I say, “gracing”, as he was an awesome cardmaker!  His creations wowed us all.  LOL!

I love this set of cards.  The layout for the Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Lovely Lilac card worked well with the Big Birthday stamp set.  The variety of cards everyone made on the night excelled all my expectations.  And, the Dazzling Diamonds rivalled the sun’s sparkle.

The other card was inspired by Lin Mei.  Thanks for your wonderful idea, Lin Mei!  I think the Kiwi Kiss/Tangerine Tango combination does solid justice to Funky Forest.  And colouring in the trees with marker pens is so much fun!  The best thing about this card is that everyone could tailor their cards to suit the sentiments from either Short & Sweet or Sincere Saluations.

Why not book a Stamp-a-Stack class with me and make 10 cards (of 2 different designs) for only $20 (envelopes $3 extra)?  That’s only $2 a card (or $2.30 including the envelope).  Does the idea appeal to you?  Then, what should you do?  First, make sure you live not too far away from me!  Then, you organise a minimum of 4 people to come around to your house and have some fun making cards.  I come to you and provide everything, including a hostess gift for you.

A little girl turns 3!

On the weekend we went to a great birthday party for my dear friend, Michele, and her (middle) daughter, Emily.  Emily wanted her birthday at the park and despite the rainy Sydney weather on the weekend, there was a pocket of sunshine that was like a special halo over Emily’s park and her party.  So everyone had a lovely time!

This is the birthday card I made for Emily, using the stamp sets Wild About You, Occasions for All (Hostess set) and Best Friends Numbers (retired).  I added a little piece of Bella Rose DSP, some Designer Buttons (Button Bouquet), some Riding Hood Red ribbon plus a Build-a-Brad.  The colours are Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, Tempting Turquoise and Certainly Celery.

My card was inspired by this card on SCS here.  Gorgeous card, isn’t it?

Bella’s Birthday

Well, I must apologise for falling off the radar for a while. We’ve had Bella’s birthday last weekend and visitors coming and going for almost a week. Plus, I’ve discovered a whole new blog world for writers and I’ve been lost in the world of agents, editors and writers. I’ve even had a few lines of my WIP edited by a real NYC editor – wow! It’s fabulous!

But back to cards 🙂 This is the card I made for my Bella. She loved it!

Bella’s one request for her card was that it have a big 5 with glitter on it (“like Harry’s”, she says to me). So, out came the Sticky Cut Letters and the chunky glitter. I’ve borrowed my cousin’s Wild About You stamp set (I must return it, Lyndal!) – so I had to put an animal on her card too. I just had to play with it, you know? Plus, I’d seen a gorgeous idea by my friend, Michele, with a fairy wand (made simply using the star punches and a thin scrap of cardstock). I wanted to use that idea too. So they all came together in this card.

I’ve used the colours Lovely Lilac, Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette. I’ve used my two-way glue pen to colour in the dots on the giraffe and then doused the giraffe with Dazzling Diamonds. The sentiment is from Short & Sweet (stamped in Regal Rose), with three square rhinestone brads to finish it off. It looks even better IRL!

Dazzling Nursery Letters

This is another card I made for a workshop make-and-take.  It uses Heat & Stick powder with Dazzling Diamonds.  I love the simplicity of Nursery Letters with Dazzling Diamonds on the Whisper White!  The Eyelet Border punch jazzes it up together with the White Taffeta ribbon.  I think these colours – Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose – make a lovely baby girl card.  The sentiment from Short & Sweet finishes the card off.
