Kindness Matters Swap for Canberra Convention 2012

Well, another Stampin’ Up! Convention is over for Australia – and it was FUN!!  To all from Stampin’ Up! who entertained, made us laugh out loud and awed us over our time in Canberra – thank you!  You’re inspiring!

There are so many amazing and talented ladies over Australia making cards, scrapbooking and other fabulous projects (and 1 guy too!!).  At Convention, we get to swap card fronts with other demonstrators (and guests – guests are welcome at Convention!).  I made 25 of these and I find swaps are a great way to try different effects and do lots of stamping!  It’s a great time to make and play … this was my swap:

I used quite a few stamp sets for this card – Kindness Matters, French Foliage and Rue Des Fleurs.  And my colour combination is Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.  Now I know Blushing Bride is retiring soon, and I usually try and create a swap that is current and hopefully will be current for the new catalogue … but I couldn’t go past Blushing Bride.  I just love this colour and I’m really, really going to miss it.

I did lots of sponging on my swap – with Soft Suede ink and Champagne Shimmer Paint.  Love this effect!

Thanks for looking 🙂

Blushing Bride Delicate Doilies birthday card

This is a card I created when playing with a fellow stamper.  We wanted to see how Delicate Doilies looked embossed in black – so we embossed it on Blushing Bride 2010-2012 In Color Patterns DSP Stack paper.  This is how it turned out …

I just the love Patterns DSP stacks (can’t you tell?) – they’re so versatile!

So for this card I used lots of it.  And then I used the Lace Ribbon border, Extra-Large Oval and Decorative Label punches with some Blushing Bride stitched-poly ribbon around the sentiment stamped from Bring on the Cake. And this is a close up of the sentiment:

2011 Stampin’ Up! Retirement List (Australian)

I simply cannot believe how time flies by – it’s been a year since our new catalogue came out (well, really, our soon-to-be-old catalogue) and now it’s time to say goodbye AGAIN!  As always happens on the eve of every new Stampin’ Up! catalogue I’ve seen, hundreds of products from the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue will retire.  Now is your opportunity to buy the “must-haves” on your wish list … before they’re gone!

You can check out the list HERE, and you’ll see some items are 25% off and a few are 40% off.  So sit down with a cuppa and peruse the list with pleasure 🙂  Remember too, items on the Retired List are only available while stocks last OR until 31 August 2011 (whichever comes first).

I’m sad to see some of my favourite stamp sets on the list – Friends 24/7, Eastern Blooms, Pun Fun and the Extreme Guitar/Extreme Surfboard stamp sets.

But if you like Designer Series Paper and want to be prepared for Christmas this year – be excited!  Check out Jolly Holiday DSP – only $10.17 – that’s only $0.85 a sheet for 12 double sided sheets – BARGAIN!!  But hurry, this one is bound to fly off the warehouse shelves.

I’m also surprised to see some of the punches going 😦  and the Sanding Blocks (nooo!!) …

Anyhow, once you’ve made up your mind with what you “must have” (go on, you know you must!) – email me with your order at rachel.capps@yahoo.com.au.

Happy stamping 🙂

Pink Pocket Silhouettes

Oh, you know, I totally forgot the other reason I’ve been amiss in posting on my blog – we sold our house and moved around Eastertime this year, lol!!  It’s amazing how time flies when you’re busy 🙂

This is another card we made for my Cancer fundraiser.  I love this card!!!

The colours are Pink Pirouette, Crumb Cake and Regal Rose.  We stamped Pocket Silhouettes in these colours on the Whisper White card stock and we also stamped tone-on-tone with Regal Rose on Regal Rose on the background paper.  The sentiment was stamped from the Level 3 hostess stamp set Occasional Quotes in Regal Rose ink.

The gorgeous butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings embosslits dies and, of course, had to have a few Rhinestone jewels added for bling!

Medallion/En Francais Make-n-take

This is the make-and-take card I used at a recent workshop.  My hostess loves a vintage style, and she loved this card.  I used the colours Elegant Eggplant and Sahara Sand, sponging the edges of the Whisper White cardstock with Sahara Sand ink.  I stamped En Francais in Sahara Sand ink first and stamped it on the Whisper White cardstock.  After that I stamped the Medallion in Elegant Eggplant ink over the En Francais image.

I then used my two-way glue and dabbed it in the circles of the Medallion – then dusting it with Dazzling Diamonds.

The sentiment is from Well Scripted, available in the Summer Mini catalogue, and it’s stamped in Elegant Eggplant ink on Sahara Sand paper.  The edges of the Scallop Oval are sponged in Sahara Sand ink as well.  Simple, but elegant and antiquey!
