Something blue …

And last, but in no way least,  we have the “Something Blue” tag …

dsc00713

The gorgeous rose from A Rose is a Rose is stamped with the new In Colors, Pacific Point and Baja Breeze.   I’ve scalloped the side edges of the tag with my corner rounder punch (I know, I’m slack, I haven’t got the Scallop Edge punch yet!!).  Again, the “Something” came from the Sale-a-bration stamp set “Yummy” … I hope using the same “something” stamp will give all four tags unity.   The word “blue” also came from Wonderful Words again … and the ever-trusty Stampin’ Write marker pens!!  I used my Bashful Blue marker pen for the words.

The leaves were stamped with Kiwi Kiss and Always Artichoke … and I applied my favourite Dazzling Diamonds in the white pockets of the stamped images.  A little knotted bow of the new Pacific Point striped grosgrain ribbon finished off the rose and the top of the tag through a jumbo eyelet.

I hope the bride had a fantastic wedding day … and that she enjoys the tags and finds them a special keepsake for years to come.

Thanks for looking 🙂

Something borrowed …

Well, today is the day of the wedding I’d made cards for … I hope they have a lovely day!!

I’m sorry, I’m a bit behind on my two other “something” posts … so here is the “Something Borrowed”.  The idea for this little tag (or ornament) is certainly borrowed … I first found it on Shelli’s blog here and the creation is all Felicity Gray’s idea.  It’s a star tag … or star card, and it’s gorgeous!!  I found directions on how to make it on Julie Salva’s blog here, although I think I still made it a little differently!!  Thanks to everyone who inspired me to create this tag!!  The button is a great idea … so clever … as it holds the tag closed when pushed close to the tag, pull it along the string and it opens up the ornament!!

The colour combo I’ve used are Taken with Teal and Close to Cocoa.  There is a big square metal edge tag too … I love the metal tags!

The swirls are from the stamp set, Priceless, and “Something” is from the SAB stamp set, Yummy.  I also made good use of my markers again and Wonderful Words to put together the word “borrowed”.

I’ve used linen thread to loop it all together with a pink button …

A beautiful new baby

Congratulations, Michele and David! On 9 April 2009, my dear friend Michele gave birth to a healthy baby girl, Elise (beautiful name, isn’t it?). Elise is so lucky because besides having fantastic parents, she also has two big sisters to dote on her.

This is the card I made for Elise …

dsc00715

It’s a shaker card … with SU pink chunky sprinkles to shake in the window. I’ve always had a facsination when looking at cards with sprinkles in newsagents. Do you ever find that? Now I can’t believe I’ve made one! Need to pinch myself … LOL!!

Around the outside of the card, I’ve used my new A Rose is a Rose stamp set … it’s so elegant! I’ve stamped the two step big rose in Pink Pirouette and Pretty in Pink. I love love love it!! LOL!!

dsc00719

And in the shaker window I’ve stamped the sentiment from God’s Blessings in Riding Hood Red and butterflies from Priceless in Pink Pirouette. I tied the coordinating Pink Pirouette striped grosgrain ribbon around the base of the card …

dsc00720

I love the Flower Fusion Too felt flowers … and the new designer buttons!! They coordinate perfectly …

dsc00723

And inside I stamped the rose in the same colours and used the word “wonderful” from Wonderful Favourites … and the words “new baby” from the new Level 2 hostess stamp set … Occasions for All. The sentiment is so true … Elise is a Wonderful New Baby :))

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you have a lovely day doing all that Easter means to you 🙂

These are the Easter baskets I made for my kids this Easter. The baskets were inspired by Makeesha Byl (there is an awesome tutorial on this link) and the bunny rabbit was inspired by Kylie Swain – thanks so much for sharing your talent, ladies!! I did change the size of the basket … my boys have dairy issues (one quite serious) … so no chocolate for their baskets. I bought a plate and other things for the boys … so I needed to upgrade the size of the basket. I used a 12 x 12 sheet and took the handle and a strip for the bunny rabbit punches all from the same 12×12 sheet.

Anyway, the first basket is for my almost 2 year old son. I’ve used the colour So Saffron, some retired Certainly Celery DSP and the Nursery Letters wheel:

And I’ve used the big Designer Brad (Circle) on the handle …

dsc00725

The second basket is for my 3 year old son. I’ve used the colour Ballet Blue, some retired DSP and the Classic Stars wheel:

dsc00726

I made this basket first, so it’s a bit bigger! It only had 1 strip for the handle taken out of the 12×12 sheet …

dsc00727

And I’ve used the big Designer Brad (Star) on the handle … and Josh has already pointed to it and said “I love my star!”. Cool!!

dsc00728

The third basket is for my 4 year old daughter. No dairy issues here – so we have chocolates!! LOL!! I’ve used the colour Regal Rose, some retired paper from the Winter Bright Simply Scrappin’ kit and the Scribble wheel:

dsc00729

And I’ve used the big Designer Brad (Flower) on the handle …

dsc00730

I’m happy to say the baskets are a hit … the kids (especially the boys) are walking around with them everywhere!!

Oh … and here are some Easter hats I made for Easter Hat parades too (and my beautiful models, naturally, my babies!! Josh, Bella and Harry – from left to right)  …

dsc00639

Needless to say, the hats were a hit with the kids too!!

Have a safe Easter break … thanks for looking 🙂

Something new …

Sorry, I’m a few days behind in posting my “something new”. But, here it is!! This is the little gift tag to go with a “something new” gift …

dsc00668

I’ve used the new stamp set “Fresh Cuts” for the embossed silver flowers (or are they leaves??!! LOL). I’ve cut out the three flowers after stamping them in Almost Amethyst and used the Boho Blossoms punch to layer it with DSP (retired) … with a rhinestone brad for their centre.

I crimped the DSP … which was great fun (thanks for the lend, Chele!!) … and then had to match the crimping with some retired ribbon I had (I think it was called Flirty?) … and, sorry, the other ribbon is also retired. I really dug through all my ribbon to come up with something that suited the tag!

dsc00665

The words were great fun to create without an alphabet stamp set !!! The word “Something” was easy … it came from the Sale-a-bration stamp set Yummy. But the “new” came from Wonderful Favourites … and using my trusty marker pens with the stamp-a-ma-jig.

This is the tag opened up … a whisper white piece of cardstock is in the middle so that a little message may be written inside …

dsc00669

(late addition to my post) I just realised I was inspired for this three pieces idea from Shelli’s blog … Shalae’s post … here.  Thanks Shalae!!

This is the back of the tag … on the inside (above) it has been stamped with the message “for you” and the outside (below) has been embossed in silver:

I hope you like it! And I hope the bride likes it!!! Check back soon to see “something borrowed” …
