More Butterflies

I had a class a while ago where one of the cards we made was with the Swallowtail stamp.  I heat embossed it with Pewter embossing powder, and I must admit, I hope Stampin’ Up! don’t ever retire Pewter embossing powder – it’s a gorgeous colour! And I love how it looks embossed over First Edition Specialty paper.

I then coloured in the butterfly using blender pens and ink pads.  Lastly, a Pretty Petites stamp punched out with the new Petite Curly Label punch from Sale-a-bration gave me a sentiment for the card. This is the card I made for the class:

And then while I was packing up after the class, I had had so much fun making the Swallowtail card during the class, and watching what all my lovely ladies made with it, that I had another play with it and made all these cards too:

The card above was made simply sponging Island Indigo ink over the embossed image of the butterfly – love this effect!

The cards above were made using a combination of blender pen colouring and using my marker pens to colour.

Lastly, I made a card with white embossing powder and used my marker pen to colour it in.  Honestly, I shouldn’t have coloured this card in.  It’s not good enough by my standards and would have looked better had I just left it embossed, not coloured, clean and simple.  The white heat-embossed sentiment was from the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Feeling Sentimental.

Last day of Sale-a-bration & Summer Mini

Well, today is the last day of Sale-a-bration and the Summer Mini.  If you haven’t yet received all the Sale-a-bration stamp sets you want, then today is your last chance to purchase $100 worth of product to earn one more Sale-a-bration stamp set on your wish list.  Please email me before 10.00pm today with your last Sale-a-bration order!

As promised, this is another card I made using the emboss resist technique.  I love the birdcage from Happy Moments that I’ve used on this card!  The birdcage is sooo sweeeet 🙂  And I also love the “hello” sentiment, from the Hello Again stamp set.  Today is also the last day of the Summer Mini Catalogue, and so it’s also the last day you can purchase Hello Again.  The flowers on the background were sparkled up with a touch of Tombow glue and some Olive Fine Supernova glitter – I love bling!

This is another card from the same class – I encourage trying different images and products in classes from what I have available.  In this card, I changed the Fine Supernova glitter to Orange.  Naturally, the Orange coordinates perfectly with this card!

Whimsical Eastern Blooms

This is a card I made for an embossing class the other week.  We used the stamp sets Eastern Blooms and Whimsical Words (and a few other stamp sets – I’ll show you soon).

The colours we used are Really Rust, So Saffron and Whisper White.  We dabbed a touch of Tombow glue at the centre of each flower in the background and then sprinkled Chunky glitter.  Love the bling!  I also love the sponged effect around the white embossed flowers, don’t you?

Rich Razzleberry Happy Moments

I love the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Happy Moments!  It is such a versatile stamp set – it’s a MUST HAVE! lol!

And how yummy is the upcoming new colour Rich Razzleberry with Sahara Sand?  I love these colours together.  I was inspired to make this card after seeing this gorgeous card on Splitcoaststampers here.

I stamped the present in Staz On black ink and then coloured it in with my blender pens using the Rich Razzleberry ink pad and my Old Olive ink pad.  I think the textured Sahara Sand and paper piercing makes a great background for the present.  The silver cord I’ve tied around the present is retired SU cord.  The sentiment is from another super Sale-a-bration stamp set – Vintage Labels.

Have you got all the Sale-a-bration stamp sets yet?  Do you want Happy Moments?  Email me today with your order over $100 and you can have Happy Moments for FREE.  Hurry though, Sale-a-bration ends on 31 March 2010.

Sale-a-bration Summer calendars

These are the calendars I made as free gifts to all my guests who were kind enough to join me for my Sale-a-bration Summer mystery party.  Thanks again to everyone who came along – it was lovely to create with you!

I made these calendars with the Kaleidoscope DSP paper (available in the Summer Mini) and based the calendars around the colours from this bright DSP.  So I based my gifts largely around the Bold Brights colour family, even though Kaleidoscope colours are Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Summer Sun, Only Orange, Pink Passion and Pixie Pink.  I really love this flower paper from Kaleidoscope!

I also used the so so so versatile Sale-a-bration stamp set, Vintage Labels, for the calendars.  This is my new favourite stamp set!  If you too would like to own Vintage Labels, then email me today with your order over $100 and you can have it for FREE!  Check out all the Sale-a-bration stamp sets you earn for FREE here – you only have to spend over $100 to earn one – NO LIMITS!
